Minimalist

May 17, 2016
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (MBFW) has officially began in Sydney on Sunday and Toni Matičevski was the first designer to start the fashion week. The event has attracted all different types of fashion inspired bloggers from around Australia and Local and International designers- even celebrities. These fashion shows don't just showcase what's going to be in stores next season but it gives us a glimpse of the upcoming trends. In light of this, this weeks post is inspired by the designers at MBFW.

Toni's designer capsule encapsulated black, grey and white hues with a hint of minimalism and structured tailored pieces. His designs had texture and creases to give these pieces a unique design. Along with his pieces, there were also bold metal chunky jewellery which reminded me of Alexander McQueen.

The second day saw metallic hues, sequins, black as well as sheer fabrics. Dion Lee showcased sharped tailored suits and silhouettes with the theme of black and white (perfect for the winter seasons) and Bec & Bridge showcased pink hues with black and white undertones which are the perfect colours transitioning into spring after winter.

The outfit I've put together was inspired by Dion Lee and the street style looks from the front rows of the fashion show. I've played with the hem lines and put together a long top with pants and a pair of heels to finish off the look. I've kept the jewellery minimal to rose gold bangles which dresses up the outfit. If it were a night event, I would throw on a structured blazer cape or even a long coat.

It's finally nice to be assignment free. It's only a matter of time till exams come creeping around the corner...

Till next time x
